Getting Here

Surrounded by the Catskill Mountains and just west of the Hudson River, the Byrdcliffe Art Colony is located nestled amid the natural beauty of a 250 acre campus of protected fields and woodland in Woodstock, NY.

Take the Adirondack Trailways bus to the center of Woodstock, NY. Busses leave from Port Authority in New York City; contact Pine Hill Trailways bus company at 800-858-8555 or for schedule and fare information to Woodstock.

If you do plan to take the bus, let us know in the form below and we will provide transportation to and from the bus station to make sure you can get to Byrdcliffe!

From the Center of Woodstock, turn onto Rock City Road (at Village Green in center of town). Continue on Rock City Road for ½ mile, and at stop sign take a very sharp left onto Glasco Turnpike (do not continue straight onto Meads Mtn. Rd.). In a ¼ mile you’ll see a garden and a historical marker for Byrdcliffe; turn right here onto Upper Byrdcliffe Road and continue up the mountain for about 1 ½ miles. Near the top you’ll see a grouping of rustic cottages and the Byrdcliffe Theater. Continue on. The performance begins at the Viletta (3 Upper Byrdcliffe Road). Park along the road.
